THE POOR MAN'S TERRY RICHARDSON = MIKO LIM
Now, I want to start by saying I have nothing against this guy (Miko Lim) and I actually like his photography except for the fact that I'm a HUGE Terry Richardson fan and have been for years -- For Over the past year i would find myself sitting in one of the many bodega slash magazine shops in New York and I couldn't help but notice this dude (Miko Lim) was completely SWAGGER JACKIN' TERRY. Now, Paying homage is one thing, like when you take something that's influenced you and make it your own/ swagger jackin' is what people from the 80s/90s would just call BITIN'(see how i did that, homage) -- A good example of Homage would be someone like Kenneth Cappelo, whom i like, and you should too, get familiar with him, if you haven't already. Miko Lim just rips Terry's themes AND uses the same style and gets rewarded with campaigns like American Apparel (now i sound like a hater)... Anyway see for yourself.... MIKO LIM
Sidebar: I just wanna say that I am aware that several photographers are using this "terry" white wall style today, i know this, but with this dude -- it's his whole style and i wanted to air him out.

There was a time when Hip Hop videos were so BIG that music videos like "Santana's Town" got looked over and pushed to B.E.T -- If Jim Jones really did directed this video, he did a crazy job -- peep the invisible transitions.

Sam Bayer is one of the ILLEST music video and commercial directors ever. His first professional music video was "Smells Like Teen Spirit" for Nirvana(Crazy Luck)... Make it a point to checkout his site and get familiar with the other music videos he's done over the years. Especially:

- All the Marilyn Manson videos -- So weird

This is something I hope to do often (Maybe weekly) and that is post music videos, films, and music that borrows from other great works of art.
